Procurement In Construction – What you need to know

November 17, 2021 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm UTC+5.5

Join our next Northern Skills Academy learning event ‘Procurement in Construction – What you need to know’

We’re pleased to invite you to our next Skills Academy learning event!

We have partnered with DAC Beachcroft LLP to deliver our next virtual learning session via Webinar.

Billions of pounds a year are being spent on capital construction and infrastructure programmes. Organisations with large capital projects are having to take a look at how procurement can assist them to build and maintain the critical infrastructure for these projects.

What sets the construction industry procurement apart is the complexity of projects. Other influences such as logistics, available technologies, finance, labour availability and even the weather all affect the ability of a project to be completed on time, on budget and to a high quality.

It is therefore crucial that organisations use their spending power not only to ensure they achieve best value for money, but are transparent, include sustainable / carbon reduction measures and take into account the social value aspect.

The key focus areas of this session will cover:

– Types of construction procurement

– Contract options: JCT v NEC

– Collateral warranties, bonds/PCG and retention

– The Construction Playbook (Government Guidance issued Dec 2020)
